Valeria Capers is a remarkable American jazz pianist and educator who has overcome significant challenges to become a renowned figure in the world of music. Born on February 5, 1944, in the Bronx, New York, Capers showed an extraordinary talent for music from an early age. Capers grew up in a family deeply rooted in music. Her father, a talented pianist, recognized her natural musical abilities and encouraged her to pursue her passion. Her dedication and talent led her to study classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music. There, she received formal training and honed her skills as a pianist, gaining a deep understanding of classical music theory and technique. Capers went on to earn a Master's degree in Music Education from Columbia University, further expanding her knowledge and expertise.
