La India, born Linda Viera Caballero on March 9, 1969, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, is a renowned Latin American singer known for her powerful vocals and her ability to blend various genres such as salsa, Latin pop, and house music. With a career spanning over three decades, La India has established herself as one of the most respected and influential artists in the Latin music industry. La India's musical journey began at a young age. As a teenager, she joined the Latin freestyle group TKA and contributed to their hit singles such as "Maria" and "Come Get My Love." However, it was her solo career that propelled her to stardom. In 1985, she released her debut album, "Breaking Night," which showcased her distinct voice and passionate delivery. In the 1990s, La India became a prominent figure in the salsa music scene. Her album "Dicen Que Soy" (1994) produced several chart-topping hits, including "Ese Hombre" and "Costumbres."  La India's ability to infuse her music with raw emotion and authenticity made her stand out among her peers.
